HB/TI-138 – Monte Gambarogno – 1734m – 4 Points

Weather forecast for Friday looked promising and I headed for HB/TI my last canton to be activated for my HB9SOTA award. I left home just before 5am and headed South. Vira on the South side of Lago Maggiore is at 209m asl and you climb (incl. 35+ hairpin turns) to the final car park at Alpe di Neggia at 1394m asl. Here you put on the hiking boots and climb Monte Tamaro (HB/TI-131) in the morning, return to the car park, have something eat & drink and climb Monte Gambarogno (HB/TI-138) in the afternoon.
