GW/SW-008 – Cefn yr Ystrad – 617m – 4 Points

After I activated Waun Rydd (GW/SW-004) in the morning I headed for my last 2/4/6/8 pointer hill to be activated in GW/SW. Initially I thought GW/SW-008 is an easy one but the gate just outside Trefil and several reports about car crime put a different picture on Cefn yr Ystrad. I found several options to walk in and I chose a route from the North. My selected car park was a bit further down from the Tor y Foel (GW/SW-013) car park.
Navigating through the old quarry was a quite interesting experience and when I saw the trig point of Cefn yr Ystrad there were already two antenna poles sticking into the air! I was greeted by Anders, MW/SM0HPL/p who was finishing off his activation. Peder, MW/SM0GNS/p was sill operating. BTW: Anders and I had an S2S QSO when he was on CT3/MI-004 and I was on HB/LU-021. Another face behind a SOTA-activator 🙂
